I’m a Pepsi guy …
It’s sweeter than Coke.
But as a Pepsi person, every time the brand switches up its logo, there’s a mini panic attack that takes place within me – as far as I’m concerned, change is of Beelzebub. And wouldn’t you know it, the logo’s only gone through ONE major refurbishment in my lifetime, so yeah …
I need a social life.
Anyway, a few months back, Innova did something similar with its new “burst” logo …
Again, gross.
But with the passage of time, it grew on me. Innova did nothing to announce the redesign, so when I first saw it on the face of a stock Champion Rhyno, I was surprised. In the weeks that followed, more stock Champion molds received the same update. What sealed the deal for me, though, was seeing the burst logo on this hat – that’s good-looking headgear for anybody.
Earlier this week, however, it was the KC Pro Roc’s turn for an aesthetic overhaul …
My brain wasn’t prepared for this:
The madness didn’t stop there, though …
Additionally, the KC Pro Aviar no longer looks like its old self:
Again, these are STOCK discs …
Welcome to Innova’s new normal.
Dave Dunipace can do whatever he wants – it’s his company. But when you start fiddling with the very putter and midrange Sir Ken Climo used en route to an unrivaled 12 World Titles, you’re asking for consumer outrage. Some things are simply too sacred to touch …
These are two of those things.
To find out if this was a PERMANENT change to Climo’s storied gear, I pinged an Innova buddy of mine on the inside. According to him, until there’s another Innova rebrand in the next decade or two, it very much is. Moreover, he noted the following about Innova’s new artwork:
- Innova stamp templates are updated periodically – not at once.
- Over time, the burst logo will make its way onto every Innova mold.
- XT, Pro and Champion polymers have all received their final makeover.
- To date, the only Star disc with burst branding is the 2023 Star Destroyer.

All good things must come to an end …
Hold onto those “old-school” KC Pro Rocs and Aviars, kiddos …
They’ll be worth a fortune in 150 years.
