How to block Green Splatter on Twitter

Twitter hate is part of the editorial game

I’m used to it.

Here are three of my favorites:

  • Tweet No. 1 – “Clickbait.”
  • Tweet No. 2 – “Skip Bayless.”
  • Tweet No. 3 – “Trash writing.”

Honestly, I don’t see most of it. And when I do, at this point, it’s mostly white noise. There is, however, ONE complaint that not only drives me bonkers, but everybody at Green Splatter. They usually come our way as tweets. Randomly, this one was a blog comment

If the intent is to irritate …

Congrats, Cary: This method works.

If you share a similar sentiment, trust me on this …

Block Green Splatter.

Some consider blocking ANY account on ANY social platform a weak-sauce move. That if you’re man enough to take a stab at content creation, you should be man enough to handle the criticism that’s inevitably coming your way. I love Twitter; I don’t subscribe to this mentality.

These same people, however, forget that blocking an account on Twitter is a two-way street. Yes, to block an account is to prevent it from seeing your stuff: There’s an element of “lame” to that. More importantly, though, when you block somebody, you can’t see THEIR stuff, either.

Can you see how this solves a problem?

To block Green Splatter is to INSTANTLY purge your timeline of our filth. And not just directly from our account. Even if a profile you follow likes, comments or retweets something we’ve written, relax: You won’t be subjected to it. Heck, not even the “For You” tab can get you.

The solution is painfully simple.

Better yet, it takes about 10 seconds:

  • Step No. 1 – Navigate to the Green Splatter Twitter profile.
  • Step No. 2 – Click on the three-dot icon next to the “Follow” button.
  • Step No. 3 – Scroll down to the “Block” option, select it and breathe easy.

Rest assured, should you change your mind at a later date, you’ll be welcomed back into the fold with open arms. Simply head back to the Green Splatter profile, click on the same three-dot icon and smash the “Unblock” option. Our content won’t have improved, but you’ll at least see it.

Green Splatter doesn’t block most troll accounts. There are a few out there, though. Sadly, they can’t see our tweets anymore. But thankfully, we no longer are exposed to theirs …

It’s a beautiful thing.

Even at our expense, give it a try.
