Why every amateur should bag a Latitude 64 Diamond

Like the amatuer I am, my backhand form is hit-or-miss most days …

For better or worse, on both ends of the spectrum, I bomb.

When I’m on, I can hit 375 feet with my backhand pretty comfortably. I can creep into 400-foot territory, too – but that’s not as reliable. Still, there are days I show up to the course and my timing is a disaster. And that distance I just mentioned? Yeah, my nose-up stuff kills it …

Can you relate?

Bag a Diamond.

When my form feels off, and I’m no longer enjoying myself, I bust it out. I don’t know what it is about the fairway driver, but when it’s in my hand, I immediately slow down, focus on my form and forget about trying to will the disc to max distanceit does most of the work for me.

But even on the days I’m feeling great, I still use it …

You know those slow, fading turnovers from left to right that seem to ALWAYS fight out of it if you don’t have the perfect Star Sidewinder or Roadrunner? Thrown properly, the Diamond is the ideal tool for making it happen. Heck, I’ll even attempt a backhand roller every now and again.

Perhaps my favorite thing about the easy-to-throw frisbee is that I can confidently fan grip it for tight tunnel shots in the woods. Again, slow and smooth – easy does it. I feel like I’m cheating.

The Diamond is hardly a “workhorse” disc for me, but it’s fun to throw when I’m not having fun. And even when I am, I seem to find myself reaching for it enough to justify it staying in my bag.

It’s a disc ALL amateur disc golfers should tinker with, and I mean that. I’ve been in the sport long enough to be able to do some mildly impressive things – with the right audience, at least.

Over the course of that time and given the nature of my work, I’ve test-driven hundreds of molds from dozens of manufacturers. My opinion isn’t the be-all and end-all of disc golf gear, but I have a fairly good idea of what works and what doesn’t. This much I can say for certain …

Don’t let the femmy name fool you: The Diamond is the real deal.
