Disc golf news: Somebody made a Twitter account to track Ricky Wysocki’s $250,000 bitcoin signing bonus

Ricky Wysocki’s new contract with Dynamic Discs is the first of its kind.

Below, you’ll find the details, just in case you happened to miss out on ‘em:

  • He’ll be with Dynamic Discs for four years.
  • He’s guaranteed at least $4 million during that time.
  • Both incentives and bonuses up his earning potential.

Wysocki’s $1 million annual salary matches McBeth’s as the most lucrative in disc golf history, both on the MPO and FPO sides of the sport. And while that’s impressive enough in and of itself, there’s yet one more key detail that makes Wysocki’s deal “dynamic” in more ways than one …

He received a $250,000 signing bonus that’ll be paid out in bitcoin.

DGPT: Ricky Wysocki

Therein lies the pioneering play: Bitcoin has entered the world of professional disc golf.

It’s become abundantly clear, however, that some fans are more excited about this than others. Take, for example, the random dude who consciously took time out of his day to create a Twitter account dedicated solely to the monitoring of Wysocki’s $250,000 bonus bitcoin investment …

You can’t make this stuff up, peeps:

Twitter: @RickysBitcoin

Rick’s both aware of the account and pumped at the prospect of free financial monitoring:

There is some debate, however, as to how “brilliant” the foresight of the account’s owner might actually be. On the above screenshot, in the lower, left-hand corner, take a closer look at the date said account joined Twitter – June 2020.

Ricky’s deal with DD wasn’t made public until Jan. 4 of this year.

So, either the account’s owner has major insider information or he saw an opportunity, realized his account had next to nothing on it and decided to rebrand in a weird and mega-niche way.

Whatever the case, as of now, 600-plus followers for a mere three tweets ain’t half bad.

Color us jealous – and green, of course.

Have anything to add? Take to Twitter to let us know – we’ll actually (for real) get back to you.
