Today marks the start of the 2022 Music City Open in Nashville, Tenn. Thanks to the Disc Golf Network (DGN), you don’t have to live in the “Buckle of the Bible Belt” to see the event.
Last year, the tournament featured four rounds of action at both Cedar Hill and Mill Ridge Park. This time around, both the MPO and FPO fields will play three rounds at Mill Ridge Park. The course is largely open, but there are enough trees and changes in elevation to prove problematic.
As is the case with all Silver Series events, round by round, post-produced coverage will be available for free the following day. To watch it, take to the Disc Golf Pro Tour’s (DGPT) YouTube channel. For Friday’s coverage, the following are the feature cards you’ll see:
Round No. 1, FPO Feature Card
- Ella Hansen
- Missy Gannon
- Macie Velediaz
- Henna Blomroos
Round No. 1, MPO Feature Card
- Zach Melton
- Niklas Anttila
- Chris Clemons
- Chris Dickerson
Still jonesin’ for live coverage, though?
No worries – as per usual, the DGN will feature live, final-round action for subscribers. For the Music City Open, however, as opposed to a single, continuous livestream, there will be two separate streams: one for the MPO division, as well as one for the FPO side of things:
- Live FPO coverage will begin on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET on the DGN.
- Live MPO coverage will begin on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET on the DGN.
It’s by no means a major shake-up, but it does make for a more focused, immersive experience for fans. Basically, if you’ve enjoyed it for Elite Series events, you’ll feel right at home.
And finally, there’s yet one more important tidbit to mention about this year’s event …
TONS of the “big-name” guys (and gals) won’t be there.
If you’ve grown tired of Paul McBeth or Ricky Wysocki winning tourneys with some iteration of Calvin Heimburg and Chris Dickerson rounding out the top three, Nashville might be just what the doctor ordered: You’ll only have the “Robot Chicken” to worry about spoiling an upset.
Paige Pierce? No. Catrina Allen? Nope. Kristin Tattar? Not even.
If ever there was an event to nab a much-needed result (Eveliina Salonen), improve a PDGA rating (Scott Stokely), boost a world ranking (Henna Blomroos), amass DGPT points (Brodie Smith) or remind people that you exist (Cynthia Ricciotti), it’d be the 2022 Music City Open.
Those competing will hardcore care – as a serious disc golf fan you should, too …
Don’t miss out.

Minor mulligan, Cynthia won’t be playing until champions cup
Eh, kind of …
She signed up for the Music City Open.
She even played the first 16 holes, as well.
Check it out: https://bit.ly/3LEsPgP
She did “DNF” on the 17th hole, though …
Not quite sure why – hope she’s okay!
Were you referring to something else?
Or, did I just miss something altogether?
(needless to say, it wouldn’t be the first time)
Thanks for reading, brotha – please email [email protected] if you spot other mistakes!
Music City is *not* a USDGC Qualifier. But Goat Hill is.
Hey, Allen!
You’re right – just saw the source: https://bit.ly/3LAYFL9
